Carragher assembled his 2024 Team of the Season for CBS Sports in a segment aired on Monday afternoon. Bellingham made an appearance on the panel to judge his side. And after Carragher assembled a Mbappe-Kane-Messi front three, the England international took a subtle jab.

Reacting to Carragher's side, Bellingham joked: "Don't know if there's enough energy in there. There's a lot of walking."

Bellingham's jibe could apply to a future teammate of his. Mbappe is reportedly considering a move to Madrid when his contract expires this summer. Messi, meanwhile, has been criticised in the past for his lack of running – although he has claimed that it's a way to conserve energy.
